The lecturer will introduce you to the illuminations contained in the book of hours, "Les Très riches heures du Duc de Berry", an exceptional manuscript creating an ideal image of the late Middle Ages.

After the lecture on manuscripts and illuminations from the High Middle Ages and the Middle Ages, Nicole LATGE, president of the Patrimoine en Couserans association, will introduce you to the illuminations contained in the book of hours, Les Très riches heures du Duc de Berry. An exceptional manuscript, its refinement, ornamentation and rich iconography with decorations, miniatures, calligraphy, lettering and margin decorations give an ideal image of the late Middle Ages. Some have called this work "the Mona Lisa of manuscripts".
