The Romanesque church of Notre-Dame-de-Tramesaygues lies on the UNESCO World Heritage pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela.
Its name evokes its dedication. The church is remarkable for the frescoes on the main porch, as well as for its interior painting program and its history through the centuries. The painting program dates from the 15th to the 19th century. The church of Notre-Dame-de-Tramesaygues has been listed as a Monument Historique since 1990. In 1998, it was classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site on the French Pilgrimage Route to Santiago de Compostela.
